FIMO® leather-effect 8010, made in Germany
FIMO leather‑effect can be shaped and worked in the same way as FIMO soft. After hardening it looks and feels similar to leather, and you can feel the effect even when you're kneading it. Unlike other oven-hardening types of FIMO, FIMO leather‑effect is hardened for 30 minutes at 130° C / 266° F. After hardening, thinly-rolled sheets are highly flexible, and can be bent, cut with scissors, punched or sewn, for example. This modelling clay is ideal for making unique jewellery pieces such as earrings, necklaces or bracelets. It also makes wonderful leather effect decorations for your home.

Oven-hardening (110C , 30mins) modelling clay
How do you harden FIMO effect in the oven?
Once you have finished modelling your items from FIMO, you need to harden them to make them stable. To do this, proceed as follows:
- Pre-heat the oven to 110°C.
- Line a baking tray with baking parchment or aluminium foil and carefully place the modelled items on the tray.
- Harden them in the oven for 30 minutes. For best results, use an oven thermometer to check the temperature during hardening.
Tip: In case individual parts of the hardened item break off, you can easily reattach them using a two-component adhesive.
Remark:
The right temperature can be precisely monitored using a FIMO oven thermometer. Please make sure that the maximum temperature of 130 degrees is not exceeded.
