After the online review of submitted works, selected participants must submit the framed original of their selected artwork either in person or by mail to Joy in Art. Joy is the state of experiencing intense, long-lasting happiness and life satisfaction. This year, we hope everyone can find joy in our watercolour exhibition, whether you are painting or visiting.
Watercolour painting is not only a medium for creation but also an art form that helps us express emotions. We would like you to convey an atmosphere of joy and happiness when creating your artwork this year.
The inspiration for watercolour creation often comes from moments spent with family and friends, snapshots of life, or the perception of certain things, leading to feelings of relaxation, joy, and happiness. When we see water and watercolour flowing freely on the palette and paper, enjoying the process itself brings pleasure. Many people forget their worries while creating and immerse themselves in this magical moment. When we paint, we find our own “joy”!
Viewers of an exhibition understand the emotions conveyed by the artists in their paintings. The attractive colours and harmonious images resonate with the audience and spark ideas. This interaction between the exhibitor and the viewer brings broader joy through communication and integration, extending from self-satisfaction to widespread collective joy!
Whether creating or appreciating, watercolour painting allows people to feel the beauty and joy in life. Let us use watercolour to carry life and bring joy to those around us and afar!

Format and Submission Requirements:
Sizes of the artwork must be one of the three below (Provide in "Participants Gifts Pack"), participants can choose to paint on Portrait or Landscape. Applicants must comply with the size requirements or their eligibility will be affected.
(A) 510mm*360mm
(B) 380mm*280mm
(C) 540mm*192.5mm

Judging Panel:
A Judging panel composed of Hong Kong and International Watercolour Masters. (To be announced)
Selected Quota:
Open Group: 80 Artworks / Student Group: 30 Artworks
Shortlist will be announced on the event website in mid-April 2025.
Selected artworks will be exhibited together with the artworks from Watercolour Master of Hong Kong and Abroad.
